Light

The Light symbol reflects varying conditions by changing color based on predefined thresholds. This symbol serves as a visual indicator of specific parameter levels. The thresholds can be configured either through static limits or dynamically by referencing other PI Tags. When the monitored value is within the designated safe range, the light remains in a default color. However, as the value approaches or exceeds predefined limits, the light transitions to different colors, providing immediate visual feedback about the parameter's status. This dynamic light symbol efficiently communicates critical information and helps users identify anomalies or potential issues at a glance.

Starting the Control

To start the control click on the “Assets” button in the upper left corner of the PI Vision display.

In the upper part select “weruLight” by clicking on it.

Afterwards the desired asset/attribute from the asset tree could be added to the display via drag and drop. The Light symbol appears on the display and can be used.

Configuration

In the configuration, a default color can be specified in the upper area.

In addition, "High Limit" and "Low Limit" values can be stored. If these are exceeded or fallen short of, the color of the control changes to the one specified there.

If the option "Use Extreme Limits" is activated, two additional limits can be set.

If the option "Get limits from AF" is activated, the limits will be automatically set from the asset/attribute that was initially used for the Light symbol.

If "Get limits from AF" is activated, disabled text boxes are displayed to show the current value for the limit.

Instead of a scalar value, it is also possible to specify a PI tag (\\piserver\tag). In this case, the "Is PI Tag" option must be activated. The PI tag can also be dragged and dropped into the text box. This automatically activates the “Is PI Tag” checkbox.

If a PI tag is used, an additional disabled text box is displayed to show the current value for the limit.

Change the Size of the Control

In case that the legend or some part of the control is not visible, it is necessary to adjust the size of the control. To do so, the first step is to change into edit mode (Icon in the upper right corner) and in a second step to click on the control. The eight appearing dots around the control can be used to adjust the size that everything is visible.

Removing the Control

Before removing the control it is necessary to switch into edit mode (Icon in the upper right corner). Thereafter it is possible to click on the control and press the delete key to remove the control.
