The Gantt chart symbol is a visual representation that displays the start and end times of various event frames over a specified period of time. Event frames are used to capture and represent important occurrences or incidents within a process or system. The Gantt chart allows you to visualize the duration and timing of these events, providing insights into the sequence, overlap, and gaps between different occurrences. This helps in understanding the timeline of events, identifying patterns, and making informed decisions based on the temporal relationships between different event frames.

Starting the Control

To start the control click on the “Assets” button in the upper left corner of the PI Vision display.

In the upper part select “weruGantt” by clicking on it.

Afterwards the desired attribute from the asset tree could be added to the display via drag and drop. The Gantt control appears on the display and can be used.

Functionality of the Control

The control displays the event frames of the parent element grouped by event type in a Gantt chart. To move within the Gantt chart, you can navigate in the control using drag and drop. To scale the time axis, the mouse wheel can be rotated while holding down the Alt key. In this way it is possible to zoom into a time range or to enlarge the time range by zooming out.

Only event frames that are within the set time range of the PI Vision display are displayed.

Change the Size of the Control

To change the size of the control, the first step is to change into edit mode (Icon in the upper right corner) and in a second step to click on the control. The eight appearing dots around the control can be used to adjust the size that everything is visible.

Removing the Control

Before removing the control it is necessary to switch into edit mode (Icon in the upper right corner). Thereafter it is possible to click on the control and press the delete key to remove the control.
